Process and Methods
At first, I had 3 choices of teammates, but 2 of them have already formed a team, leaving me with Shaun Lee Jun Kit as my only available option at that moment, so I decided to team up with him. Our timetables made it difficult, but not impossible for the both of us to meet up and do our assignment.
I started by adding a profile of myself, two paragraphs about me and my interests and then a picture of myself, all using HTML coding. After that, I combined my details with Shaun's and added in various HTML tags like "b" (Bold), "p align=center" and "font color=#990000 face="Tahoma"". Due to the colorful nature of Shaun's paragraphs, we decided to use a plain white background instead of an image or even a colored background so that the background does not obscure Shaun's words. I also suggested to Shaun that he should add at least one picture of himself like I did. Finally, we uploaded our web page and our images onto Bravehost and double-checked to ensure that everything works according to the way we wanted it. This blog report was created after the completion and hosting of our web page.
Technologies Involved
Notepad was used to create the web page, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox were used for browsing and double-checking purposes, and Bravehost.com was the site used to host our page.
HTML Coding
HTML tags that I used include the "font face" and "font color" tags. I used "font face="Comic Sans MS" color=red size"=5"" for my profile and "font color=#990000 face="Tahoma"" for my paragraphs. "b" (Bold), "i" (Italic), and "u" (Underline) tags were also used for emphasis or description purposes.
Web Hosting Server
Our choices of web hosting sites were Geocities, Bravehost, and Freewebs. Due to the fact that Geocities will be closing down soon, we were left with the other two options. We decided to use Bravehost, which was recommended by another team who are also using it.
Uploading Files
It was our first time using Bravehost, but it didn't take long for us to learn how to use it. Bravehost seems reliable enough for me, and I plan on using it for any future assignments involving web page hosting.
Blogging
Although I have a blog, I have never written any entries prior to this assignment. This assignment has not only helped me get more acquianted with HTML coding and tags, but helped me learn the basics to blogging.
Conclusion
Although I still have yet to master HTML coding, this assignment helped me improve my mastery of it. If I could do anything better to my web page, I would add in more types of tags to make my page look more interesting.
